What our open data platform has to offer
Cadasto’s Core Functionalities
Vendor neutral data storage
Even demographic data is stored according to the openEHR Demographics Specifications – which is truly unique for healthcare data platforms such as ours.
We also provide complete audit logging (changes, deletes and read actions), also according to openEHR. This way, you always know what happened to your data and when and who had access.
Structured data for optimal reusability
Our use of the openEHR standard means that all data stored in Cadasto is reusable across systems. Semantic interoperability is central here. Also, openEHR has been developed by both clinicians and developers, so that the structured data models are all clinically validated for maximum accuracy and consistency – for patient care, care support and clinical research purposes.
VNA capabilities
Phasing out legacy systems can be a true headache. Besides the intricacies of data extraction (oftentimes due to vendor lock-in), what are you going to do with your historical data? A Vendor Neutral Archive (VNA) can be a solution here. Store your historical data in the Cadasto open data platform and start afresh with your new application – you can even choose to combine both your historical data and your new data in one platform.
openEHR APIs
The openEHR APIs are a central part of the Cadasto platform – they facilitate the connection between your data layer and your applications. The flexibility openEHR provides means that app portability becomes a breeze.
We believe openEHR is the foundation for true data availability. Using openEHR, you don’t create data copies in order to send them on for data exchange – you retrieve structured data straight from the source and create and edit new data compositions and templates as needed. Everything comes from one standardised source: your openEHR data layer. This way, there is always one single truth.
Our openEHR APIs include the EHR, Demographics, AQL, Definitions and Admin APIs.
Authentication
Cadasto offers oAuth 2 for server-to-server connections. And, stay tuned: we aim to launch our SMART Connector, including an external identity provider, soon. The SMART Connector offers an accessible alternative to classic server-to-server authentication, according to the SMART-on-openEHR Specifications. Our founder, Sebastian Iancu, developed these specifications together with Sidharth Ramesh from Medblocks.
FHIR API endpoints
Our FHIR API endpoints support optimal data exchange and openEHR-FHIR mapping using Datamap (in the form of a configurable FHIR mapping facade).
Cadasto for…

Healthcare Organisations
Your organisation wants to be in control of your own data. You need the flexibility to switch applications and introduce new ones – to innovate without limitations. In order to achieve this, you need to separate your data from the functionalities of your applications. The Cadasto open data platform offers you this data-layer, based on the international openEHR standard.

Regional Healthcare Collectives
Your region is looking to strengthen collaboration and data availability across multiple organisations and even disciplines. The foundation will be an open data platform, to which all applications will be connected to both retrieve and supply data. Cadasto is built for this purpose: widespread collaboration, with optimal security and the use of international standards.

Software Suppliers
You want to focus on where your strength lies: the functionalities of the applications you build. Creating a secure, standardised data layer is complex and time consuming. Enter Cadasto: connect your apps to our data platform and you are ready to serve your customers in healthcare with optimal data availability and interoperability.

Researchers
With a Clinical Data Repository based on internationally embraced standards, your source of truth is clear. Using clinically validated data models means that the data that lies at the core of your research is accurate and consistent. The Cadasto open data platform is built according to open standards, with semantic reusability in mind.
