About Cadasto
Our Vision for the Healthcare IT of Tomorrow
Cadasto – Care Data Storage
At Cadasto, we believe that vendor neutral open data platforms are vital as a foundation for creating a future-proof healthcare IT system. Care data should be standardised, reusable and available when needed.
Anyone who has worked in healthcare IT for any number of years will agree: the status quo in healthcare IT, storing care data in silos in a proprietary format, is doing us all a disservice.
Interopability is highly complex and true data availability seems like a far-away dream. Advancements in technology are skyrocketing, but in healthcare, innovation is slow-going.
Surely, there should be another way?
The team behind Cadasto has said it for years: open standards, care data modelling and standardised data storage are the way forward.
Data should be separate from applications and organisations should be free to switch both data platforms and applications. To achieve this, software vendors need to embrace collaboration.

Our Origins
Once upon a time, in Alkmaar…
Cadasto has its roots in Alkmaar, the Netherlands. In 2010, three entrepreneurs with many years of experience working in Dutch hospitals, Alessandro Torrisi, Martin van der Meer and Sebastian Iancu, founded CODE24 together. They saw a future in which vendor lock-in in healthcare would be a thing of the past and embraced the internationally recognised openEHR standard as the foundation for their EHR software, mConsole.
Everything they built was based on openEHR and Sebastian spent hours and hours on both their data foundation and, as part of the SEC of openEHR International, on the development of the openEHR Specifications.
The platform was operational, but only as the foundation for all the organisations who use mConsole…
Cadasto is made available to the market
Times have changed. Where, in 2010, many of those in healthcare IT hardly knew what openEHR was, awareness of its potential has grown exponentially. There is no question about it: data availability is a must in healthcare and with the current way healthcare systems are built, we are not going to get there.
It was time for Sebastian’s data foundation to stand on its own, receive an upgrade and be made available to the market: and so, at the beginning of 2026, Cadasto was born!
Cadasto offers the benefits of years of experience with and knowledge of the openEHR standards and of a team of developers who know what it takes to use such an open data platform as the basis for real life healthcare practices.
Security & Quality
Trust is the foundation
Trust is central to everything we do at Cadasto. Our customers depend on us to work with critical data and processes, often in complex and sensitive environments. That responsibility is why quality and information security are firmly embedded in how we operate. Our certifications make this commitment visible and measurable.
Our ISO 9001 certification shows that we work with structured processes focused on quality and continuous improvement. It helps us deliver consistent results and continuously refine the way we work.
With ISO 27001 we demonstrate that information security is an integral part of our organisation. We actively protect data, manage risks and safeguard confidentiality, integrity and availability.
Our NEN 7510 certification (a Dutch standard that builds on the ISO 27001 but adds specific requirements for healthcare) further emphasises our careful handling of sensitive and personal data.
Together, these certifications reflect what Cadasto stands for: dependable partnerships, transparent processes, in-depth knowledge of the healthcare domain and solutions you can trust.

Our Partners
Re-shaping the data-fabric of health and care will require community and commitment. It requires all vendors to be as open as the open standards we propagate – to embrace collaboration and share what we know.
Cadasto proudly partners with the following organisations:
“openEHR is no longer an experiment. It has become a trusted foundation for healthcare organisations seeking vendor-independent, future-proof clinical data. This is the right moment for Cadasto to enter the arena of worldwide openEHR CDR vendors.
I worked together with CODE24 and Cadasto on the SICHT DATA project (Maarsingh & van Steijn), with great success. Looking forward, I aim to work closely with Cadasto in my new project YellowBrink.”
“Cadasto combines vision with decisiveness.
It thereby delivers functional, proven, and scalable solutions for data availability in healthcare.”
